Demonstrating a high level of professional skill, dedication to excellence and commitment to continuing education, Diane Knerr has been awarded the Certified Communications Professional (CCP) designation by the AWC Matrix Foundation.
Diane, Director of Communications for Franciscan Services Corporation (FSC) in Sylvania, Ohio, has skills that range from conference development and management to publications, media relations, teaching college-level English classes and website development/management. In her present position, she produces a 16-page quarterly publication and annual report for all FSC member organizations throughout the country.
Diane has demonstrated a commitment to sharing her talents with volunteer and professional organizations, including the AWC Toledo Chapter and her local Sanger Branch Library/Maumee Valley Romance Writers of America (MVRWA) group. She has chaired a local AWC awards committee and developed writing workshops for MVRWA.
The CCP review panel was impressed with Diane’s strong personal commitment to accepting additional responsibility, producing high quality materials, and keeping her skills up-to-date. They noted that the breadth of her achievements, along with her educational and volunteer activities, make her a professional to be admired.
When asked why she pursued the CCP designation, Knerr responded, “Lifelong learning and sharing knowledge have always been important to me. Pursuing certification as a professional communicator put into perspective the experience of many years. I discovered my strengths and weaknesses and which goals were a priority. The certification has made it easier for me to identify activities that will expand my marketable skills, thereby providing a solid foundation for the future.”
